In one sentence: Censorly redacts your photos and PDFs entirely on your device — your documents, images, and the personal information inside them are never uploaded, transmitted, or seen by us, because Censorly has no servers to send them to.
Censorly is developed and published by Telemetric LLC ("Telemetric," "we," "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how Telemetric LLC handles information through the Censorly app. Censorly is built as an offline, on-device tool, which shapes almost everything below: there is no account to create, no cloud sync, and no server that stores your files.
Any photo, screenshot, ID, PDF, or other document you import into Censorly is processed locally on your device using on-device image and document processing. We do not upload your files to a server, we do not retain a copy anywhere outside your device, and we do not have a mechanism to access them remotely.
This applies to every part of the redaction process, including:
Once a redaction is applied, the underlying pixel data is overwritten and is not recoverable by Censorly, by us, or by anyone you share the redacted file with.
Because all processing happens locally, Censorly does not need to — and does not — collect:
Standard, non-identifying technical information may be processed by your device's operating system to run the app (for example, memory and battery usage), the same as it does for any app you install. Censorly itself does not collect this information for its own purposes.
Censorly does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software development kits (SDKs). We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties, because we do not collect user data to begin with.
If a future version of Censorly introduces an optional, clearly-labeled feature that requires network access (for example, an opt-in cloud backup), this policy will be updated before that feature is enabled, and you will be asked to consent first.
Because Censorly does not collect or store personal data on any server, there is no remote account or data set for us to export or delete on your behalf — your documents and their redacted versions exist only on your device, under your control, for as long as you choose to keep them.
You can remove any file Censorly has created at any time using your device's Files or Photos app, the same way you would delete any other file.
Censorly is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, since the app does not collect personal information from any user in the first place.
If we make material changes to how Censorly handles information — for instance, if we ever introduce a feature that requires a network connection — we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above before that change takes effect.
